cuzcooooo viaje !!

holaaaaa todos !!

so , as you all know , i reciently got back to Nuevo Chimbote with my host family from being in Cuzco ( where Machu Picchu is ) it was a fun trip although it was very short :( that city was so beautiful . you can really tell that the people that live there are proud to be where they are and they have a reason to ; its sooo beautiful , almost unreal .. the days until i come back to the United States are really limited now and im kind of in the middle about my feelings .. i want to come home to all my family and friends in america but i am going to miss my family here in peru .. theyve all made such an impact on my life rather they know it or not . even the simplest thing leaves a mark in my memory forever , things like going to buy 'pan' (bread) with my mama everyday at 6 pm , or the songs that me and my sister sing together everyday . its been such a struggle and great experience having siblings here , since i have one real brother in america that is 12 years older than me and never really did anything or was never really there . i know i will miss every single one of my family members so much and i have really been thinking and i dont really want to go back to speaking english !! i want to be able to speak spanish alot when i get back .. hopefully i can get a job that involves speaking it . i hope you will enjoy some of these pictures , theyre from my trip . =)

i am leaving to go to CUSCO tonight ( in an hour !! ) and im verrry excited !! right now im charging my ipod because its a 6 hour bus ride to Lima from Chimbote and then from Lima its about an hour and a half airplane ride to get to Cusco !! so i am in for a lot of waiting and boredum before i actually arrive to the ' good stuff ' !! but it should be a fun trip !! alot of the AFS peru is going on the trip also so that should add to the experience as well !! as of today i only have 36 days left to be in peru and 15 of those days i will be away in cusco and pichanakki !! the time is really going fast now and i think its always in the end when you realize that it was all worth it to be here . i KNOW i will never forget my year here , and i will always have another family that i love and that loves me also <3 !!


i will write all about cusco and my adventures when i get back :)

today i went to the 'isla blanco' in english , it would be the white island . its an island just outside of chimbote . i went with the whole AFS chimbote group and i had a good time apart from the fact i almost threw up on the boat , i didnt bring any food , and the sun was SOOO strong , my face got very burnt .. well , there isnt much to say about it .. there is a group photo at the top !!

well since i last wrote , my birthday passed . my mom made me chicken but cooked in the over ( they dont use ovens much here ) with my favorite white salad that she makes whenever there is a birthday in the house . all i know is it has white corn , apples , mayonase , peas and some other stuff .. its sooo good ! so some of the family came in from trujillo ( the city we always go to for visiting ) and we all ate lunch together . BUT*** before i ate lunch , i went to go get a massage around 113O that morning and ive never gotten a massage before , it was really relaxing ! so i came home , we ate , and then it was pretty boring from there .. nothing really happened . in the night time they brought my cake out and sung happy birthday !! it was cute to have all my family around .. although my brother and his wife couldnt be there because he is haveing medical problems reciently . anyways , it was nothing special really .. no 'big' traditions that are different from ours . since then nothing has really been happening . i have VERY little time left here and im going to cusco in about 2O days or so .. im very excited about that ! i think its REALLY cold there because right now its winter in peru and its sooo cold . its almost the same as in missouri but when winter first starts and there is no snow . im enjoying the cold but it makes me in this weird mood .. all down and gloomy , but you all know how that is during winter in the united states also (except if you live in miami , then you dont have that problem ! ) other than that nothing much is going on ! just school everyday and maybe going to buy the daily things for my mom .

MY BELOVED AMERICANS!!!! :)

my time here is getting shorter and shorter and its kind of a sweet and sour thing . i can honestly say ive enjoyed my time here although there was some rough patches and i went through some things i HIGHLY disliked .. but in the end , as im looking back right now i am starting to appriciate the things i have learned even if at that specific moment i didnt . im growing more fond (?) of peru now because i know im about to go back home to america and i KNOW im going to miss it . it kind of sucks that im just starting to notice this but i think that might be what the whole experience is all about . also my birthday is coming up next week and im excited to see how that turns out . i was just posting a lil blog to let all of you know how ive been feeling recently . love&miss you all .

cole cole cole y esperandoo

well it is April 23rd and i only have about 79 days left here in peru. while being here my last few months i am going to school daily and waiting for my trip to cusco with AFS in june . sometimes i go out with my sisters to the city , or sometimes we go to trujillo to shop or something for a day which is always fun :) i made a grilled cheese for my mom here and she liked it :)also i bought tortillas and a chicken breast to make chicken quesadillas =) im really just counting down the days right now until my cusco trip and coming back home. im excited to come back to America and study in OUR kind of schools.. it will be such a relief to see good grades and to FULLLY understand because it will be on the level that i am supposed to study. ahhh what a relief that will be! i miss my family and i want to see them. hopefully we will have a get together when i get home . today is my brother's wifes birthday here in Peru so we are going to have a little dinner for her , there will be pictures dont worry !! and tomorrow im going to trujillo so i can buy my boots for cusco =)when i get back from cusco i will only have a few days left to be here in peru. i have a feeling things will be sad because ive grown with this family so much.. its going to be really different to go back and live life without them. i will have to call them alot and hopefully i can come back to visit them sometime soon. live without siblings will be relaxing i think now that i know how it is to have them.. im thankful my brother in USA is 12 years older than me haha.

LIMAAA CAPITAL DEL PERU !!

hey everyone !!

lately ive been doing alot more , which is exactly what ive been wanting :) i went to lima with my host moms sister ( mi tia ) to her house for a little over a week . it was during 'semana santa' which is easter week in usa . while i was downtown lima i got to see a ceremony - type thing with the virgin mary , everyone was in the street and it was really moving to see all those people there for the same casue/ reason . i took a video !! it was really cool because it was unexpected. i just happened to be in the right place at the right time . the next day i went to a water display called ' parque de aguas ' it was REALLLY pretty , and it was telling kind of a story of peru .. i took a video of that also !!

i had a really nice time even from being in the taxi and observing everything with my aunt it was also really nice to get a break away from my house in chimbote.. which i think i needed at that moment . but dont get me wrong , i ABSOLUTELY love my host family and i wouldnt change them now if i could .. no way . my aunt that i stayed with had different values and costoms .. which is surprising because it is the sister of my host mom so i thought they would be something alike but nope .. COMPLETELY different . maybe it has something to do with the people they married or their life after just being at home helping mom , or high school . . it just puts my mind to work how thing work out and why . and i wonder how much im going to change..

FOOOOD !!! my aunts food was way different also .. well since her husband is from japan she made things with alot of soy sauce.. it was something different that im not used to so i liked it :)
